After visiting a castle in France in the 1960s, Tom van der Bruggen, a Dutch antiques seller, decided to create building blocks that could recreate such architecture. This is how Kapla Block, a block of exactly the same size with the golden ratio, was born. Kapla blocks are made from sturdy pine wood from deep forests in France. The characteristics of pine wood create blocks that are not deformed for a long time and can be processed in detail.
